ASTM ASI – SAE M50 high speed tool steel, we can supply the round bar, flat bar, plate, hexagonal and square block. Diameters can be sawn to your required lengths as one offs or multiple cut pieces. Rectangular pieces can be sawn from flat bar or plate to your specific sizes. Ground tool steel bar and precision ground steel plate can be supplied, providing a quality precision finished bar to tight tolerances.
Applications
As a high quality HSS tool steel ASTM AISI – SAE M50 is very suitable for make complex blanking, high speed Drill bar, vibration and impact load of the mold: deep drawing die, punching die. Metal cutting saw blades, cold heading and extrusion tools.

Forging of HSS M50 Tool steel-ASTM A681
Slowly Heat to 650-750 °C, keep the temperature to heat thoroughly. Start forging. Finished cool slowly.
Annealing of SAE AISI M50 tool steel material
Heat to 1204 °C, soak enough time, and ensure heat thoroughly. Then cool in the heat treatment furnace. Get hardness 248 HRc Max
Quenching of SAE M50 material
Preheat temperature/ ℃: 732 ~ 843
Quenching temperature / ℃ | salt bath furnace: 1104
Quenching temperature / ℃ | controlled atmosphere furnace: 1116
