Soft Annealing Heat to 650-700oC, cool slowly. Normalizing Normalizing temperature: 890-920oC. Carburizing Carburizing temperature: 880-980oC. Cooling from carburizing temperature: water, oil, air, thermal bath. Core hardening temperature: 880-920oC. Tempering Tempering temperature: 150-180oC. Hardenability Diagram Forging Hot forming temperature: 1050-850oC.  Machinability Machinability of CK15 steel is fairly good, especially in the cold drawn or cold worked condition. Based upon carbon steel AISI 1112 as a reference that is considered 100% machinable (easily machined) the CK15 steel has a rating of 55%.
