Soft Annealing
Heat to 650-700oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 248.

Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 850-900oC followed by oil quenching.

Tempering
Tempering temperature: 570-660oC.

Nitriding
Temperature: 480-570oC.
Surface hardness after nitriding: 950 HV
