Description Special high alloy hor work steel. Extreme retention of hardness; suitable for all applications where particular resistance to high temperature wear and melt of of metal is required. Applications Extrusion tools for copper, copper alloys and steel, including spcial dies, die casting tools of all kind for brass, goosenecks and chambers for magnesium die casting, ectrusion tools for steel. No water cooling.  Physical properties (avarage values) at ambient temperature Modulus of elasticity [103 x N/mm2]: 215  Density [g/cm3]: 8.08 Soft Annealing Heat to 760-840oC, cool slowly in furnace. Time is 4-6 hours. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 320. Stress Relieving Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 600-650oC, holding for 1-2 hours at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment. Hardening Harden from a temperature of 1100-1150oC followed by air, oil quenching or vacuum quenching. Hardness after quenching is about 52 HRC. Tempering Tempering temperature: 600-750oC, to increase hardness, temper 2 or 3 times. Tempering Temperature (oC) vs. Hardness (HRC)
